Huawei is no stranger to premium smartphones and sub-brands, the company used to previously own Honor, which is now an independent brand, and even without its history with Honor, Huawei has delivered some of the most premium smartphones in the market and continues to do so. But it now appears that the company wants to up the ante and actually bring ultra-high-end smartphones to the market under the brand name Ultimate Design.
Despite its dwindling future, the Huawei sub-brand Ultimate Design is proof that the company has no intentions of stopping
The company has launched a new Ultimate Design brand today, and based on the information we have, this new brand will be top-shelf, surpassing everything that the company has to offer at the time of writing.
Considering the status of this new Ultimate Design brand by Huawei, it is obvious that the company is going to focus on delivering smartphones made out of top expensive materials and with cutting-edge design DNA, as well as top-of-the-line specifications. We just don't know how far Huawei is willing to go in terms of what it has to offer.
Huawei describes its latest Ultimate Design brand as the "culmination of ultimate aesthetics, ultimate craftsmanship, and extreme innovation." The company has even launched the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design, along with the Huawei Watch Ultimate Gold Edition.
Looking at this new brand, it is obvious that Huawei is trying to achieve the same thing it used to achieve with its Porsche Design smartphones. Those were some of the most premium and expensive smartphones in the market, with top-of-the-line specs and a design that would inherently be different than the base variant of those devices.
Sadly, you will not be able to buy the Ultimate Design smartphones since they will most likely be limited to China, and even if you do manage to import them to your home country, you will still be left with a smartphone that has no Google Mobile Services or an OS that can even remotely be called Android.
Other than that, Huawei's latest Ultimate Design endeavor looks solid, and given the experience the company has, I am sure that these phones are going to look and feel excellent and way more premium than all the other options that are available in the market, at least in this segment.
