The iPhone has always been put against Android phones for comparison in an attempt to see which platform delivers the best results as far as performance and battery life are concerned. While Apple is well ahead in the performance department this year with the new A17 Pro chip, a YouTuber has now compared the iPhone 15 Pro Max to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Pixel 7 Pro, and more phones in a new battery life test.
Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra gave the iPhone 15 Pro Max a tough time in new battery life test
The iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 4,422mAh battery and conjoined with Apple's software optimizations, it should deliver an elongated battery life against the competition. We have previously covered how all aspects considered, why the iPhone 15 Pro Max should feature the best battery life on any smartphone. A YouTuber is now putting all flagship smartphones to the test against each other.
YouTube channel TechDroider stacked the iPhone 15 Pro Max against the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Pixel 7 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and the OnePlus 11. Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and OnePlus 11 are powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip while the Google Pixel 7 Pro is powered by the Tensor G2 chip. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Tensor G 2 chips will compete directly against Apple's A17 Pro chip in terms of computational and graphical performance. Additionally, we will also be able to see how the companies have placed their optimizations to full advantage of the chips.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max battery life tests against Galaxy S23 Ultra, Pixel 7 Prom, and others feature a series of tasks ranging from games, social media, and web browsing. As you can see, the Google Pixel 7 Pro was the first phone to drain followed by OnePlus 11. Apple's iPhone 14 Pro Max drained its battery shortly after followed by the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. This means that the final contenders of this test are the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra.
All the smartphones were put to their limits in the video recording segment. The Galaxy S23 Ultra gave up after a while and the last model standing was the new iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple's iPhone 15 Pro Max has managed to secure the spot with the best battery life on any smartphone, similar to how we speculated before the devices were launched. The iPhone 15 Pro Max lasted for 10 hours and 31 minutes against 10 hours and 27 minutes on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It was a close call for Apple but it did manage to squeeze out some extra minutes.
