Capcom’s latest survivor horror AAA title, Resident Evil 4, has been spotted on the Apple App Store, becoming only the developer’s second title after Resident Evil Village to be available for multiple platforms. It is no surprise to see the upcoming game supported on iPhones, especially when Apple has marketed its iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to be able to play such titles with ease while also offering hardware-accelerated ray tracing support.
Pricing details are not available, but Resident Evil 4 is likely to be more expensive than Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village is said to launch on October 30 for the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and various iPad models. Since it is a couple of years old, the $33.50 price seems fair, but that only means that Resident Evil 4 will be more expensive, seeing as how it is the latest entrant in Capcom’s critically acclaimed survival-horror series. Mukul Sharma spotted the listing on the Apple App Store, with the details mentioning that the title will be available for the Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Though the supported hardware is not mentioned, when it comes to iPhones, it is possible that only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available to play it at an acceptable framerate. One YouTuber has already shown that the iPhone 15 Pro can maintain a steady 30FPS while playing Resident Evil Village on an external monitor. Since Resident Evil 4 is developed on Capcom’s RE Engine, the same engine used to develop Village, we expect a similar gameplay experience.
We have completed Resident Evil 4 on low-end hardware, and it performs exceptionally well with the visual settings tweaked, so iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max owners will likely be in for a treat. With Apple’s MetalFX upscaling technology in play on the latest flagships, it should result in a decent experience on various devices. The release date for the game is December 31, but in one image, it states that the official date will be announced at a later time.
Also, for some reason, when we tried searching for Resident Evil 4 on the Apple App Store, the listing could not be seen, so the visibility of the game will probably be expanded when it nears its launch date.
