There is no way to deny the fact that WhatsApp happens to be the definitive messaging app that you can get your hands on. It is also an app that people have been using continuously, and the good thing about it is that Meta is constantly adding new features that are conducive for the users. Today, we have learned that Meta is going to bring some AI flavor within the app with the new Meta AI assistant, and it will be available soon.

Meta announced it during its Meta Connect 2023 event, and for those wondering, Meta AI is the new assistant from the company. The virtual assistant is powered by AI and has access to real-time information through Meta and Bing's partnership, and it also brings tools for image generation. This assistant will soon be making its way to WhatsApp, which definitely is a good thing, considering how you will be able to get a lot of assistance from within the app without having to leave the app.
Now, for those wondering, the Meta AI assistant will be coming to a number of platforms, including WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Not just that, it will also be found in the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and Quest 3 VR. The AI assistant is currently only available in the U.S. and only supports English, but considering the widespread of all Meta apps and services, we can expect this to make it to other regions in the world, too.
For those wondering about the functionality, users will be able to ask questions in their personal and group chats. The image generator will also work within the app, and you will be able to create badges as well as other images through generative AI. While I am not sure when this feature will be available widely for everyone to use, I am really glad that Meta has made the effort to bring this out on WhatsApp. Here is hoping that we get to see it in action real soon.
