The Galaxy S24 series is said to launch earlier next year as Samsung aims to put a slight dent in Apple’s momentum thanks to the recent iPhone 15 release, which is why it should not be surprising that the base model’s design got revealed in a leak this quickly. From the looks of it, Samsung will adopt flatter edges on the new model, though the majority of the aesthetics remain consistent with its predecessor.

The collaboration between @OnLeaks and Smartprix brought forth the base Galaxy S24 leak, which is said to feature the same 6.1-inch display as the Galaxy S23. However, as you can tell from the renders, curved edges will no longer be used as a part of the design, with Samsung switching to flatter edges, likely making it easier to hold the Galaxy S24, though others may not agree with this statement.
A 360-degree video below also reveals a visible UWB antenna, which would be the first time we see such a change in this series. As for the dimensions, the base Galaxy S24 measures 147 x 70.5 x 7.6mm, making it vastly different from the Galaxy S23, which has 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6mm measurements. The backside of the upcoming flagship remains virtually unchanged, showing a triple camera setup in a vertical orientation, which has remained unaltered from past releases.
Samsung typically does not give much importance to the base Galaxy S version, but seeing a different Galaxy S24 design can mean that the company’s strategy may see a shift, as its market share continues to be threatened by the likes of Apple, the resurgence of Huawei and other Chinese brands. We have heard that the Korean giant is bringing other upgrades to the base Galaxy S24, such as LTPO panels to its entire lineup, and not just the ‘Ultra’ variant.
Following the base Galaxy S24 design leak, it should not be surprising to see the ‘Plus’ and ‘Ultra’ renders show up online, as that is exactly what happened last year. While we appreciate that Samsung is switching to flatter edges, the same overall appearance suggests that the base member will likely be ignored.
