The OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 Are Confirmed to Be the Same Phone, Launching Simultaneously

Ever since OPPO and OnePlus' merger, we have seen both companies work together to ensure that they have a streamlined product and service line. First, we started seeing the merging of OxygenOS and ColorOS. Not just that, the phones by both companies looked similar too. Now, it is safe to say that the merger has more or less come to completion as the upcoming OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 have been confirmed to be the same device.

OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 could release later this month at the same date

Pete Lau, the man behind OnePlus and the SVP and CPO of OPPO, has officially confirmed that the OnePlus Open and Find N3 are basically the same phone. Lau claims that both brands have worked together to create this "book-style" foldable, and it will be launched at teh same time.

Sadly, Lau did not divulge a lot of information about the OnePlus Open or the OPPO Find N3, but we are aware of the fact that these phones are going to be powerful. We have already seen leaked renders, and based on the information we have so far, it appears that the new devices will be very good at competing against the likes of Samsung and Google.

We have also learned that the new OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 will have a hinge design that will be 37% smaller than the one found in the Find N2, and it will have 31 fewer components, which should make the smartphone lighter and the hinge itself more durable. The phone will also have an alert slider.

The last we heard about the release date and availability, we found out that the OnePlus Open would be released in October, so perhaps we are going to have to wait for October 19th for teh device to go official. I have a feeling that you can expect to pay upwards of $1,000 and even more for this phone.

If you need any inspiration for cutting loose and relaxing this weekend, look no further than a free-wheeling troop of monkeys that broke out of their South Carolina research facility Wednesday and, as of noon Friday, were still "playfully exploring" with their newfound freedom.

In an update Friday, the police department of Yemassee, SC said that the 43 young, female rhesus macaque monkeys are still staying around the perimeter of the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Facility. "The primates are exhibiting calm and playful behavior, which is a positive indication," the department noted.

The fun-loving furballs got free after a caretaker "failed to secure doors" at the facility.
