Google finally started rolling out Android 14 yesterday to all supported Pixel devices, and alongside, the company also started rolling out the October Pixel Feature Drop. The new feature drop is mainly for Pixel Fold and Tablet and brings a number of updates to both devices that will make the experience even better.
The latest Android 14 Feature Drop makes your Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet even better
The new Andriod 14 Feature Drop brings Dual Screen Interpreter mode for Pixel Fold. This is actually a pretty clever feature that allows you to rotate and hold up the device so that the foldable is facing the person you are talking to. On the inner foldable screen, you will see the input at the top and the translated output below that. However, on the cover screen, you will just see the translation. If you converse or interact with people who don't speak your language, this is an excellent feature that will make it easy.
Moving onto the Pixel Tablet, when you dock the tablet, the Hub mode will allow you to play podcasts as well as news without unlocking the device. Kids Space is also getting a "streamlined" navigation bar that will make it easier to switch back and forth between apps.
Additionally, with the new Android 14 Feature Drop, Google is also going to start warning about malfunctioning or incompatible USB-C cables. Users will get a "Check charging accessory" notification on the lock screen.
Moving further, the new Android 14 Feature Drop also brings a redesigned Google Camera app with a high-level "Photo" and "Video" switcher that is now found at the bottom of the screen. The new switcher will inform the user about what modes are available in the carousel above, this means that users will no longer have to experience all the settings combined together. You also won't see the Settings on the top row, as it has been moved to the bottom-left corner.
The latest Android 14 Feature Drop is now rolling out, and if you have supported Pixel devices, then you will get access to these features as soon as your device gets the update. If you want to know everything that has come with the new Android 14 update, you can check it out here.
