iOS 17.0.3 did not fix the iPhone 15 Pro's overheating issues YouTuber conducts extensive test
It was initially coined that the overheating issue on the iPhone 15 Pro is due to the new A17 Oro chip which is creating a lot of heat. However, these claims were ditched by industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stating that the issue is unrelated to the A17 Pro chip but linked to the new titanium finish on the iPhone 15 Pro. It was also previously noted that the iPhone 15 Pro is overheating due to the Instagram app. Apple took note of the issue and released iOS 17.0.3 with a fix for the overheating iPhone 15 Pro models.
A YouTuber has now tested the overheating issue on the iPhone 15 Pro before and after installing iOS 17.0.3 which carries the fix to the issue. Upon testing, the user found out that the iPhone 15 Pro still gets hot after charging the device and performing benchmark tests. The user noted the temperature of the device before and after installing iOS 17.0.3 with a thermal camera and the results were quite surprising.
The iPhone 15 Pro was connected to a charger while running a graphics test that consumes raw power from the A17 Pro chip. The iPhone 15 Pro delivered the same rising temperatures after installing iOS 17.0.3. It was previously covered that Apple has not capped the performance of the A17 Pro chip after iOS 17.0.3 update which means that the issue is not related to the chip. The user states that there is no difference between the temperature of the iPhone 15 Pro models before and after installing iOS 17.0.3. You can check out the full test below for more details.
