Apple announced the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with a wide range of novelties and changes. The new models feature the same powerful chip, different from the standard models to keep a performance gap. However, only the iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 5x tetraprism lens while the standard model features an optical zoom lens from last year that features only 3x capabilities. A prominent industry analyst suggests that Apple is looking to offer the new tetraprims lens on the iPhone 16 Pro as well as the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Both iPhone 16 Pro Models will feature a 5x tetraprism camera lens for better zoom quality
The iPhone 15 Pro Max features the best camera on any iPhone and the new 5x zoom capabilities make it a worthy upgrade. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to bring the tetraprism camera technology to the iPhone 16 Pro model as well, despite its smaller size and form factor. This is not the first time that we have heard of the tetraprism making its way to the smaller 'Pro' next year. Kuo is only standing by his claims that he made a few months back that both 'Pro' models will feature uniformity in terms of camera hardware.
Currently, one of the major decisive points for individuals is the 5x camera lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new camera lens will allow users to make a better decision based on the size of the iPhone as both are 'Pro' models by name and should carry the same features. Other than the upgraded camera on the iPhone 16 Pro, the battery capacity is another reason why users would stick with the bigger "Pro Max" version instead of the 'Pro'.
While Apple has set certain features for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, both models also share a wide range of similarities. For instance, the A17 Pro chip will be found in both models for enhanced computational and graphical performance. As soon as the iPhone 15 Pro models made it to the customers, we heard numerous reports complaining of overheating issues. While some users blamed it on the A17 Pro chip, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the titanium finish was the main culprit in the entire scenario.
Apple took note of the issue and stated that the issue is part of a bug in iOS 17 which will be fixed in the next iOS 17 update. The company delivered its promise and released iOS 17.0.3 which fixed the issue. However, the analyst did not share his thoughts on the scenario further. We will keep you guys posted on the iPhone 16 Pro camera updates as soon as further details are available.
