Xiaomi is all set to reveal the Xiaomi 14 series next month, and based on the information we have received so far, there are going to be three devices: the base variant, the Pro variant, and the Ultra variant. Today, we have our first look at the Pro variant, showing the phone from all angles and, well, some familiar traits that are not so tastefully done.
The Xiaomi 14 Pro does pack a lot of powerful hardware, but it needs to look different than it does
The Xiaomi 14 Pro is said to bring a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a center-hole punch camera. The company has ditched the curved screen in favor of a flat display, which is something I can definitely get behind. I am glad that this trend is changing as more and more companies are realizing that having a flat screen is much better. With that said, you can have a look at the renders below.
Honestly, while I do not like the design all that much, I have to say that I am kind of disappointed that the Xiaomi 14 Pro looks a lot like an iPhone. Sure, the camera island is a bit different, but the way this phone is constructed makes it look like an iPhone from afar. This, of course, could change when we get to look at the phone in real life, but so far, I don't have a lasting impression.
The Xiaomi 14 Pro does pack some really nice hardware, including a 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a 4,860 mAh battery, 120W and 50W wired and wireless charging, respectively, and an ingress protection rating, too. If the Pro variant is not right up there for you, then you should not worry because we are also going to be getting an Ultra variant, which will have even better specs, namely in terms of battery, cameras, and display size.
The Xiaomi 14 series is set to be unveiled next month, and the phone will launch in China, followed by an international release. If you have been looking for a solid device, then you can definitely wait for this one to see what it has to offer.
