Xiaomi is currently busy preparing the Xiaomi 14 series, and earlier this month, we talked about how the company might retire its MIUI and replace it with MiOS, which is a fitting name for the OS. However, it is not confirmed that the name change is indeed happening. It's just not what we thought it would be. The new OS that is coming from Xiaomi will be called HyperOS, and it will debut alongside the Xiaomi 14 series.
HyperOS is going to take center stage for all Xiaomi smartphones, starting with the Xiaomi 14
Sadly, at the time of writing, we don't know what HyperOS is going to look like. But we do know that it will be launching with the Xiaomi 14 series, which is due later this year, packing the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is important to understand that this new Android skin is not going to be exclusive to China and will be running on all Xiaomi phones sold in international markets.

Xiaomi's CEO has also confirmed that work on HyperOS started back in 2017. This makes me all the more excited to see just what Xiaomi has planned for the latest OS and how it works. I have a feeling that there is going to be some degree of artificial intelligence baked into the operating system because that has become a common thing for all flagships that are releasing later this year and early next year.
Looking at all the Android skins available, I believe MIUI happens to be the oldest one because I remember I installed a ported version of it on my HTC Desire and used it for a long, long time. Samsung has gone through a change, too, and shifted to One UI with the release of the Galaxy S8 series. OnePlus also shifted from Cyanogen Mod to OxygenOS/ColorOS, and that leaves Xiaomi with its MIUI. I am really hoping HyperOS brings a number of changes that help people have a better overall experience with the operating system.
Considering how the Xiaomi 14 series is not really that far, it is safe to say that in the coming days, you can get access to a lot more information about HyperOS and everything that the new skin is capable of. I am really looking forward to seeing what Xiaomi is going to bring to the table. So, the best thing that we can do is wait and see.
