This means that the company is aware of the display flickering on the Apple Watch models and it is investigating the root cause of the issue.
Apple has not shared a statement on the issue but it seems that the display flickering issue is only present on the latest Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models. Customers have reported the issue on the Apple Support Community website, Reddit, and MacRumors Forums highlighting the display flickering issue. Additionally, all models of the affected devices are running a version of watchOS 10.
Apple has asked service providers to not repair the affected units which means that the company does not think that it is a hardware issue. Instead, Apple wants users to keep their Apple Watch models updated with the latest software available. The company is working on a fix and will release it in the near future to fix the display flickering issue on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Apple recently seeded the release candidate build of its forthcoming watchOS 10.1 update. The update will be officially available to the public next week which could house a fix for the display flickering issue on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2. If you wear your Apple Watch on a daily basis, you can turn off the Always-On display temporarily until a fix is released. Simply head over to the Settings app on your Apple Watch navigate to Display & Brightness > Always On and turn it off.
