Apple's iPhone 15 announcement is mere days away and we are hearing new details on the device and what it will have to offer. The iPhone 14 was not among one of the favorite iPhones for users since its launch as the handset was pretty much identical to the iPhone 13 in terms of design and functionality. To tackle bad demand, the company is gearing up to introduce major changes with the iPhone 15. However, ahead of its announcement, we are now hearing that the iPhone 15 will feature production cust due to two main reasons.
Apple expecting fewer sales estimates amid supply chain issues for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models
According to analyst Jeff Pu, Apple is cutting production for the iPhone 15 ahead of its announcement. What this means is that there will be fewer iPhone models compared to the iPhone 14 last year. Shipments have been brought down from 83 million units to 77 million units as per the analyst and there is a good reason why the company might be looking into it.
Since the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will come with major changes in terms of hardware and design, there are bound to be production issues. The analyst notes that the delay is due to the new Sony camera sensors, thinner bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro, and the new grade 5 titanium build of the devices. The production costs for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro might cause minor shortages in terms of supply unless the company devises an appropriate solution.
Another reason that the analyst mentioned is Apple's concern for demand, Due to the ongoing global recession, the purchasing power of the end user has been severely hurt. What this means is that the company could face lower demand for the iPhone 15 models. Henceforth, Apple needs to introduce major changes to its flagship devices to induce demand.
Other than the user's purchasing power, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models are also expected to cost more than the current models. If Apple does want its iPhone 15 models to be a hit, it has to keep the price hike to a minimum, even if it means cutting its profit margins for some time, While it is very unlikely, the company is anticipating the demand to be lower than usual, making the company readjust its sakes estimates.
As mentioned earlier, Apple will announce the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models on September 12 while devices will hit the shelves on September 22. Take note that these are mere speculations at this stage as the final word rests with Apple. We will keep you guys updated on the latest, so be sure to stick around.
