Hearing a song and not being able to remember the lyrics can be an annoying experience, especially when you really like the song. That is why most of us often find ourselves humming that song because we cannot remember the actual tune. Well, YouTube wants to change that as the platform is now getting a feature that will let you hum the tune you remember so you can find the song that you listened to.
The new experimental features on YouTube are an excellent way to make the platform even more intuitive for everyone
Google has announced the new hum-to-search feature that will be coming to YouTube. It is important to know that feature is currently in an experimental stage, so we are not sure if it will become a mainstay. In addition to the ability to hum to search for the song you are looking for, you can also record a song to identify it.
If you are using YouTube and want to make use of this year, you will have ot toggle the YouTube Voice Search in order to search the song you are looking for. Once that is done, you have to hum or record the song for a minimum of three seconds, and once the song is detected, you will be sent to the relevant content on the platform.
It is also worth noting that due to the experimental nature of this feature, it is only available to a "small percentage" of YouTube users on Android right now. This means that you are going to have to wait some time before this feature finally makes it to the masses. The same experimental nature of this feature could also mean that Google might introduce some changes, and last but not least, the feature is currently not available to the Music side of the app, so you will have to wait.
Another new feature that I think is going to be really helpful is called the channel shelf. The idea behind this feature is simple. Every time a creator you are subscribed to uploads a video, that video will automatically be added to the shelf. This means that you will no longer have to go through that creator's channel to look for the video. I think this is a great feature that YouTube should bring out as soon as possible because it can make life easier for a lot of people, especially people who are subscribed to a lot of creators and often get sidetracked because of the busy schedule that they have.
