Being a lifelong gamer, I never really thought that one day we would have phones that would be able to play high-end games. For me, a gaming PC or a console is the best way to go if you are looking to enjoy the experience that the games provide. This is the reason why I was blown away when Apple told everyone during the event that the iPhone 15 Pro series will be able to natively run games like Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, Assassin's Creed Mirage, and Death Stranding. Mind you, these games are not to be scoffed at, but to see them running on a phone is something that I never thought would happen.

Then yesterday, I was randomly browsing YouTube for some videos, and I came across this video of Cyberpunk 2077 running on Redmagic 7S Pro, and although the game was running via emulation and was rarely in a state of being playable, it made me think that if Apple has done that much and since Android devices are becoming more and more powerful, the future of smartphone gaming looks good. For the sake of reference, you can have a look at Cyberpunk 2077 running on an Android device below. While it is obvious that the game is not available on iPhone 15 Pro, the possibilities in the future are endless.
Now, honestly, this should not really surprise anyone because, let's be honest, smartphones are slowly becoming more and more powerful. The iPhone 15 Pro is already impressive in gaming with its A17 Pro, and we cannot even wait to see what the future Mac or iPhone SoCs bring to the table. One thing, however, is certain, even after looking at the poorly emulated Cyberpunk 2077, that the future of gaming on smartphones is looking bright. While it is too early to make a comment on these AAA games becoming commonplace on smartphones, it has become inevitable, and sooner or later, we are going to see this happening.
