Apple may proceed to launch an unnamed Mac later this month, according to evidence provided by a source who is privy to the company’s plans. Apparently, trade-ins for the recently released models will start being accepted shortly, indicating that a new version sporting the M3 is on its way.

A ‘verified’ source has informed MacRumors that Apple will start accepting trade-ins for its newest Mac lineup, making it easier for consumers to pick up the model or models of their choice that are slated to be announced later this month. Before WWDC 2023 officially kicked off, Apple started accepting trade-ins for the older Mac Studio, the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air, and the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro.
Shortly after, Apple announced the new 15-inch MacBook Air, a second-generation Mac Studio, and a new Mac Pro that could be kitted out with the M2 Ultra. Given the global economic conditions, Apple is making a smart business decision by accepting trade-ins and giving customers credit to purchase the latest Mac. This move helps the technology giant ship as many units as possible, and it also looks better on its next quarter’s financial report.
As for which new Mac could be announced later this month, there should be no surprises here because the M3 has previously been rumored to be unveiled in the fourth quarter. There is a possibility that a 13-inch MacBook Pro and a 13-inch MacBook Air will be announced sporting Apple’s second 3nm chipset. The design of the MacBook Pro will likely remain unchanged and will probably be the only version available to offer a Touch Bar out of the entire lineup.
The 13-inch MacBook Air got a design makeover last year, so we will likely get the same chassis but with the M3 upgrade. Previous reports have stated that Apple might also announce a 24-inch iMac, so it will be interesting to see what new products we get this time.
