iOS 17 will bring major changes to dual-SIM iPhone models with the ability to sort messages by SIM, separate ringtones, and more
Apple recently released a revised version of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17. The company also seeded the first public beta for all compatible iPhone models. In the latest beta builds, Apple has added new features for dual-SIM iPhone models which will enhance their user experience.
TechCrunch reports that dual-SIM iPhone users will be able to categorize messages based on their SIM in iOS 17. What this means is that messages received from SIM 1 will be stored separately in the Messages app while messages from SIM 2 will be kept separately. This will give users the option to better manage their texts.
Furthermore, iOS 17 will also bring dedicated ringtones for dual-SIM iPhone models. It will allow users to easily identify if a call is coming from SIM 1 or SIM 2. Currently, whenever the iPhone rings, it does not specify if the call is coming for SIM 1 or SIM 2. The feature is perfect for people who use dual SIMs for work and personal needs.
Lastly, iOS 17 will also bestow dual-SIM iPhone models with the ability to choose a SIM before making a call to an unknown number. The feature is not currently available as users make calls through the SIM that is assigned to make calls. These are all the features coming with the launch of iOS 17 later this year doe dual-SIM iPhone models. The features are not restricted to the latest models but all iPhones with dual-SIM support can potentially have access.
Other than this, iOS 17 also brings the ability to save Full-Page screenshots in the Photos app, Currently, you have the option to take full-page screenshots on iPhone but it is saved as a PDF file instead of an image. Henceforth, the "Save to Photos" feature will be handy when sharing full-page screenshots.
As mentioned earlier, iOS 17 will be released to the general public later this year in September. If you wish to install the latest beta builds, check out our detailed guide on how you can do it.
